A pretty detail....

I just re-discovered this shot from last summer.... A beautiful wedding I photographed outside West Yellowstone, Montana.... I loved this detail.

Through the tall prairie grass, a path was cut that led down to the ceremony site.... Kelley and Eric planned their destination wedding from Los Angeles, with the help of Jubilation Events, Amy is a wonderful planner if you're considering a Montana Event.... This a particularly spectacular day!

Lovely awkwardness

I shot these 2 portraits at a wedding in Salt Lake City, UT. I'm really happy with them both, I know people want to see a lot of bright, happy photos from their wedding, and 90% of what I shoot falls into that catagory! But I'm also really interested in the off-moments, the quirky and unexpected....

I love the awkwardness of this boy. And I love the rich colors in the bottom image.... Philip-Lorca DiCorcia has long been an inspiration to me, his ability to fuse drama and documentary....

I love the spontaneous nature of these portraits, they are so reminiscent of Richard Avedon, one of my photography icons. I love the fresh and timeless quality of these....

Tim and Michaela

Tim and Michaela are planning a classic 20's inspired wedding in Brooklyn next fall, and I wanted to capture a little bit of that timeless quality in their engagement pictures. We started in my cozy studio and then decided to venture out into the NYC landscape, despite the bitter cold! Tim and Michaela share not only a great love for each other, but they also share a great love for animals... they told me about Barc Shelter, which is right around the corner from me, a no-kill animal shelter where they both volunteer to walk dogs, and if I'm not mistaken it might have been one of their first dates! (PS - I'm totally going to do this!)....
